Evening will slowly move in over the Boar's Head Lighthouse on Long Island, Nova Scotia, but before it does, the sunset hues span the sky in soft pastel colors. The water of Petit Passage remains calm as the the light atop the Boar's Head Lighthouse becomes illuminated.
Built in 1864, the lighthouse still watches over the waters of the Bay of Fundy, Nova Scotia keeping ships safe from the rough waters. The lighthouse stands at a height of 33 feet and the light can span the water for 14 miles. The entire length of Long Island is about 15 kilometers in length and 5 kilometers wide.
Visitors to Long Island make their way out to these cliffs to see the beautiful scenery and incredible sunsets. The Digby Neck and Islands Scenic Drive is one of spectacular beauty especially at sunset.
