Castle Butte in the Big Muddy Badlands is a large rock formed over 10,000 years ago from the melt waters of ancient glaciers and is now a tourist attraction which many come to see while visiting Southern Saskatchewan. Tourists traveling in a camper have stopped to rest in front of Castle Butte where they can enjoy the beauty of this rock formation at dusk.
Castle Butte is 61 meters high and made up of a combination of sandstone, clay, alkali and coal deposits which is always changing with the different weather systems which move through the Big Muddy Badlands. A dirt road leads tourists to the base of Castle Butte, where some like to climb this unique land formation while others simply like to admire its beauty on a clear evening.
A camper makes life easier for tourists exploring the Big Muddy Badlands as they can simply pull over anywhere for a meal or to relax and enjoy the scenery.
