The Confederation Bridge is the longest bridge but is the shortest route between the two Provinces of Prince Edward Island and News Brunswick and makes the journey between these two places very simple. There was once a ferry that took people to and from the mainland but since 1997 the 12.9 kilometer bridge was completed and life in the Maritimes become much easier.
