At the Construction Techniques exhibit at the Fortress of Louisbourg in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, there is a display of tools which have been reproduced from the 1700's. These tools are found at the Carrerot House at the Fortress where visitors will discover period building techniques.
Each of these tools are similar to the ones we see today except that there are far fewer and they are way more simplified. These are the main tools which people relied on when building in this French-fortified town dating back to the eighteenth century.
At the Fortress of Louisbourg in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, there are many different things to see around this reconstructed town and fortifications. Buildings, yards, gardens and streets all resemble the way life was in the 1740's with costumed interpreters found throughout.
