The easiest way to reach the waterfront in the town of Fleur de Lys along the Dorset Trail in Newfoundland, Canada is to take the wooden stairs. At the base of the stairs, one can enjoy a beautiful sunset, this one creating a blanket of pink and purple hues which reflect off the surface of the water. The sun has disappeared behind the hills leaving behind its stunning colors.
Located at the end of the stairs near the waterfront dock are old fishing stages and small boats. The town of Fleur de Lys sits in the harbour which was once used for French fishing ships.
The main road known as Highway 410 is called the Dorset Trail which leads to this beautiful and serene seaside community. The town has a population of approximately 300 where the sheltered harbour has quaint homes lining the waterfront. In the early morning hours, the quietness is broken up by the sounds of boats motoring out of the Fleur de Lys harbour and at sunset, the boats return home to end another day.
