Labrador, part of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, is separated from the Island of Newfoundland by the Strait of Belle Isle. Labrador stretches along the Atlantic coast Northwest of Newfoundland, and borders the province of Quebec to the west.
Labrador’s southern region, known as the Labrador Coastal Drive, extends from L’Anse au Clair north to Cartwright. Along the drive, tourists have ample opportunity to explore historic sites, fishing villages, pristine trout and salmon-bearing rivers, and miles of scenic coastline. Caribou, whales, sea birds such as puffins, and dramatic icebergs are just some of the highlights.
