The bright red tower home to the Point a-la Renommee Lighthouse on the Gaspesie Peninsula in Quebec, Canada, watched over the Gulf of St. Lawrence up until 1977 when it was moved to Quebec City to pose as a tourist attraction. It stood there for 20 years and was then decided it should be returned to its original home on the historic site on the Gaspesie Peninsula.
This lighthouse is known to be one of the world's most traveled and today, people can tour through the lighthouse where they can learn of its history. The coastal scenery from the cliff is stunning as you look out over the Gulf of St. Lawrence and scan the waters below for Fin Whales, the lighthouse being a common location for these marine mammals.
