Graveyard Halifax Nova Scotia


An assortment of headstones fill the graveyard in the downtown area of Halifax in Nova Scotia, Canada.

In the Old Burying Ground in the oldest graveyard in Halifax, Nova Scotia in Canada, headstones of a variety of shapes and sizes are displayed. This graveyard was first used in 1749 when it became the first burial ground in Halifax and it was not until 1844 that the graveyard became full and new residents had to be laid to rest a few blocks away.
