Niagara Falls in Ontario, Canada is a magical vacation getaway for families and couples especially at night when the Horseshoe Falls display their colorful nightly illumination. On a clear night, the city buildings twinkle in the backdrop as the raging water of the Horseshoe Falls thunders over the rocky cliffs showing off the vibrant rainbow colors as the nightly lights come on.
There are 21 Xenon lights used in the nightly illumination of the falls which has a brilliance equal to 250,000,000 candlepower, all being funded by the Niagara Falls Illumination Board. When dusk settles in over Niagara Falls, the colorful show begins, some more spectacular than others depending on the weather but tourists should note that times vary throughout the year.
