Small pebbles line the beach of Lake Erie in Point Pelee National Park in Leamington, Ontario in Canada as the small waves gently break along the shore. Summer days can bring out the visitors where people enjoy a swim or partake in various water activities.
Throughout the park, there are 22.5 kilometers of sand and pebbled beaches and tourists are always able find a tranquil area to enjoy the beauty of Lake Erie.
The lake can become ferocious at times and recent studies have found the beach areas are eroding due to the sand-trapping barriers such as piers in some of the harbours. The lake is becoming deeper along the shore which will create more damage when the waves hit. Government personnel have grouped together to try to create a way to save the beauty of the shore of Lake Erie before it is too late.
