Manitoba Childrens Museum Entrance The Forks Winnipeg


As children arrive at the entrance to the Manitoba Children's Museum at The Forks in the City of Winnipeg in Manitoba, Canada, their eyes light up at the colorful sign.

The colorful sign at the entrance to the Children's Museum at The Forks in the City of Winnipeg, Manitoba in Canada, has been built into the rolling mounds of sidewalk brick. The museum first opened in 1986 with Phase II being completed in 1988 and by 1994 the third phase was completed, but the museum changed locations to its current setting at The Forks.

The entrance is just the beginning to a world of excitement which attracts thousands of tourists every year. Once inside the Manitoba Children's Museum there are special exhibits and six permanent galleries named: All Aboard, Live Wire, Our TV, Tree and Me, Wonder Works and Santa's Village. An outdoor courtyard has amphitheatre seating to enjoy a picnic where a massive sandbox is situated for the children to play in.
