People from around the world come to Point Pelee National Park in Leamington, Ontario to spend their day bird watching. This park is listed as one of the top 15 locations for birding where more than 380 species of birds call this area home at some point throughout the year. During the Spring and Fall, many migratory species move through Point Pelee National Park while other breeding types reside here permanently.
Areas along the Marsh Boardwalk have binoculars set up for visitors while serious bird watchers bring their own equipment. A yearly event is the Festival of Birds, where groups are guided through the park to help children and adults learn the importance of the migratory birds, their habitats and the rules and regulations required to become experienced at bird watching.
