Located on Wellington Street across from the West Block of the Parliament Buildings in the City of Ottawa, Ontario in Canada, stands the National Press Building. Inside the historic building, the parliamentary press corps are found who were once located in the Centre Block of the Parliament Buildings before it became overcrowded.
The sign across the street from the National Press Building explains the history of this icon, an Italian Renaissance building which was first named the Norlite Building. When it was built in 1917-1919, several government agencies were housed here.
The offices in the building are used by journalists and are paid for by the federal government. As the blue sky highlights the architecture of this nine story building, the Canada flags blow in the gentle breeze.
