A large iceberg has become stranded in the harbour of Old Bonaventure near Trinity Bay in Newfoundland, Canada where it remains until it thaws enough to be able to move once again. Each day, the iceberg decreases in size and the massive peaks become smaller, changing the look of its beauty. The base of the iceberg is visible beneath the surface of the water, but it is hard to tell how massive it is and the depth it reaches below the surface.
This iceberg originated from the glaciers of Greenland and it is told that some of the ice is between 10,000 and 15,000 years old. As large chunks of ice break off the glaciers in Greenland, they begin their journey until reaching the coastal waters off Newfoundland, Canada, this possibility taking 2 to 3 years.
Once reaching the waters around Newfoundland, Canada, the melting process will take another few months until there is nothing left of the iceberg.
