As the Pinware River in Southern Labrador, Canada quickly flows, the rapids display their power and speed through the gorge which was created many years ago. The scenery of the wilderness landscape and the Pinware River from along the Labrador Coastal Drive is breathtaking where the reddish brown coloring of the rocks is prominently displayed along the banks.
As the rapids move quickly along the Pinware River, a white foam blankets the surface, a river which is extremely dangerous to try and cross. There was a bridge built in 1965 which enhanced the communication between villages as crossing the Pinware River became possible.
