The Point Amour Lighthouse in the small town of L'Anse Amour in Southern Labrador, Canada has adorned these shores since it was lit in 1858. It stands as the tallest lighthouse in Atlantic Canada and the second in the country with 128 steps taking you to the top where you can overlook the scenery.
The buildings located around the Point Amour Lighthouse were once the residency of an oil shed, telegraph station, fog alarm and the living areas for the workers and lighthouse keeper. Declared as a Provincial Historic Site in Labrador, visitors can tour through these buildings where historic displays are found relating to the early years.
