Royal Canadian Mint Building Sign Winnipeg City Manitoba


The sign outside of this unique architectural designed building in the City of Winnipeg, Manitoba marks the location of the Royal Canadian Mint.

The sign to the Royal Canadian Mint in the City of Winnipeg, Manitoba stands out front of the rose colored glass exterior building which houses the mint. Here all of the coins for Canada, along with some for other countries, are made at the Royal Canadian Mint and then circulated on completion.

Billions of coins are produced yearly from the Royal Canadian Mint, a building which was officially opened in 1976. Tours through the mint are about 45 minutes in length, but many spend longer admiring the unique design of the building. The first mint was built in Ottawa but demands became too high and after a fair amount of controversy, it was decided to build the new mint in the City of Winnipeg.

The mint is open to visitors who want to tour this building and see how each step is done in the production of money along with a gift shop where hundreds of collector items can be purchased.
