The town of Placentia, once known as Plaisance, is located on the southwest coast of the Avalon Peninsula in Newfoundland, Canada which spans across the coastal forested area. From Fort Royal at Castle Hill National Historic Site, the view of the town of Placentia is picturesque nestled away in a sheltered area.

Placentia is the ancient capital of Newfoundland and has been a famous, well designed location since the 1500's where it was easy to keep an eye on the English enemies. Today, the town of Placentia is ideally located for business as it is within close range of the shipping and transportation routes.

The community spirit in the town of Placentia of about 4,400, is very strong and people find it to be a friendly and comfortable place to live and visit. A large beach runs along the coastal shores where the scenery is beautiful especially when overlooking the Avalon Peninsula from Fort Royal.
